relivo vs WordPress
WordPress runs a large part of the web and asks you to run it. relivo runs it for you.
What WordPress is good at
WordPress powers an enormous share of the internet and can be made to do almost anything. Between themes and plugins there is very little it cannot become. It is open source, so you own the software outright and can move it between hosts freely.
Where they differ
Something to maintain, or not
A WordPress site is software you are responsible for: core updates, plugin updates, backups, and the security consequences of skipping any of them. relivo has nothing to update because there is nothing installed.
Plugins versus included
A contact form, an SSL certificate, a backup system and a caching layer are four plugins in WordPress, each with its own settings and its own way of breaking. Here they are simply part of the product.
What breaks and when
The classic WordPress failure is a site that worked fine for a year and then stopped after an update nobody made deliberately. Static pages served from a network have far fewer moving parts.
Choose WordPress if…
- You need a specific plugin or an unusual integration
- You publish constantly and want a full editorial workflow
- You have a developer, or you are one
- Owning and self-hosting the software matters to you
Choose relivo if…
- You want a website, not a system to administer
- Nobody on your side is going to install updates
- Your site is a handful of pages and a contact form
What comes with relivo either way
Whichever you are comparing against, this is included rather than added on.
We deliberately do not quote anyone else's prices or limits here. They change without notice, and a comparison that gets them wrong is worth less than none. Check WordPress's own site for current terms — ours are here.
